Day 8- Tralee, County Kerry

We head back a little north to Tralee, County Kerry on day 7. We will be staying at the stunning Ballyseede Castle, where I've never been before! The castle is from the 1590s, so it's 300 years newer than Ashford-isn't that crazy? Ashford was already old when this place was built. I love Ireland!

From Ballyseede, we will drive the internationally famous Ring of Kerry and Connor Pass. My parents and I drove this in 2012 and were astounded at the great beauty of this drive.

The incredibly steep mountain drive looks down over valleys with lakes and woods, and you can see for miles! On a clear day, you can see neighboring counties, and even out to the Aran Islands. Higher above you, you can see the occasional ancient beehive hut. The views are incredible-driving can be treacherous, however, as the 'two lane road' barely fits more than one vehicle! There's also the occasional stop due to sheep crossing in the road.
