Days 2 & 3-Ashford Castle, Cong, Co. Mayo

It's finally here! We will be flying out of JFK Airport on June 12 and landing 7 hours later in Shannon Airport in County Clare, Ireland on June 13. From there, we will head north to Ashford Castle, in the town of Cong, County Mayo. For our ceremony and honeymoon, I picked out some of my FAVORITE locations for us to travel to. Besides Ashford Castle, though, my parents and I haven't stayed at the other hotels and castle on the list; so that's pretty exciting!

We're hoping to go on a 'hawk walk', where we will be able to take some of the hunting hawks for a walk around the sprawling Ashford estate. My parents and I did the hawk walk back in 2012 and LOVED it, so it's definitely somethine we wanted to do during our stay there!

Ashford sits on a sprawling estate on Lough Corrib, and the views and scenery are just incredible. The interior is stunning as well, with exquisite wood work, unbelievable furniture, and all sorts of other details. You could spend all day just walking around and looking at everything inside.

On 'The Big Day', I will walk from our room overlooking Lough Corrib down the main staircase with a red carpet (yes, seriously! haha) to meet Carl. It feels so unreal!
